Try Some Contra Dancing...with Live Music and Caller

Experience contra dancing in-person, with live musical accompaniment!

IN SPRINGFIELD, MO

The Traditional Dance & Music Society of Springfield hosts contra dances at the Family Life Center - Kings Way United Methodist. There is a charge ($7 adults/$5 youth), but no prior experience or partner is needed. All dances are taught! The evening begins at 7:00 pm with a workshop and easier dances for beginners, and then the dances become more complex as the clock ticks towards the ending time of 10:00 pm. Schedule and more information can be found on their website: http://www.springfieldcontra.org/when.htm

IN THE ST. LOUIS AREA

Check out the website of the Childgrove Country Dancers -- there is plenty of information about traditional dance styles and local/regional musicians. All are welcome to join in the dancing, from beginner to old-time expert!

IN COLUMBIA, MO
