This research guide details some of the changes and features to the EBSCO databases starting May 2025.

New Features

The New EBSCOhost User Interface will include new and enhanced features and functionality that improve the research experience. The updated interface has been reimagined based on customer feedback. EBSCOhost has 8 key feature points listed below, but we've hightlighted our top 3 improved areas in the navigation tabs.

Modern Software Platform
The new interface, built on a modern platform, allows fast updates and agile responses to market demands, providing libraries with an enhanced research experience.
Accessibility
Enhanced WCAG 2.1 AA conformance, increasing the accessibility score from 43.03% to 92.12%. Introduced text-to-speech (TTS) technology for improved accessibility.
 
Globalization
Provides users with a clean, in-language research journey, available in 33 languages.
 
Enhanced Filters
New filter design with a streamlined panel, ‘sticky’ filters, and clear visual feedback, improving usability and reducing confusion.
 
Database Limiters
UI features common and specialized limiters for both single and multi-database searches.
 
Advanced Search Page Improvements
Updates include a custom date picker, improved thesauri, subject headings, MeSH, and publication authorities. 
 
Personalization (Dashboards, Saved Searches & Search Alerts)
Users can save, delete, create alerts, and add items to projects.
Back-End Functionality
Library administrators can use EBSCO Experience Manager to configure their EBSCOhost user experience.
