Design your own 3D object!

Create your own model using Blender.
If you are new to this, check out CG Cookie's tutorial for beginners

Rather read an instruction manual? Download Onshape's help manual (pdf).

Design your own 3D object!

Create your own model using OpenSCAD, a free software and available for Linux/UNIX, Windows and Mac OS X. Unlike most free software for creating 3D models (such as Blender) it does not focus on the artistic aspects of 3D modelling but instead on the CAD aspects. Thus it might be the application you are looking for when you are planning to create 3D models of machine parts.  Download the free program and start learning OpenSCAD by following their online user manual!

Design your own 3D object!

Create your own model using the Qubism 3D modeling app that you can download to use on your phone or tablet! Build simple 3D models with digital construction blocks called 'qubes' that can be added, deleted, moved, stretched, sloped, shaped, rotated and coloured with a couple touches.

Video demonstration on how to use Qubism. (Might need to watch this at 0.25 speed to grasp the use of the editing tools!)

Design your own 3D object!

Create your own model using Maya. The software can be used for 3D computer animation, modeling, simulation, and rendering.  Learn Maya by following the Beginners Guide to Maya 2016 written by Shane Whittington.

In this video tutorial, Shane Whittington provides a step by step lesson on the tools and user interface of the Maya software, model creation, texture, lighting and rendering!
