Microsoft Hololens: Mixed Reality at Meyer Library

Microsoft Hololens mixed reality device at Meyer Library

Microsoft Hololens at the Meyer Library

Meyer Library is bringing emerging technology to MSU in a sharing environment for the purpose of introducing students, faculty, and staff to offerings that will have major impacts on society in a very short time.  Our goal is to provide opportunities for discussion across disciplines on the pros and cons of new technology, to introduce faculty to alternative methods for content delivery and to help elevate the level of student workplace readiness through hands-on experience.

Microsoft Hololens, a mixed reality wearable computer, is now available at the library.  The Hololens displays simulated holographic images 'made of light and sound' using special lenses as described here

Use of the device, within the library, is intended to focus on education, arts, medical, and business applications.
